Tending the Heart: Exploring

May 23, 2017

**Mission always begins in the heart.  We cannot hope to follow God into his mission without first responding in obedience to what is being stirred in our own hearts by the Holy Spirit.  Occasionally, I will be posting simple reflections that you can use to listen for Jesus' voice in your heart.**

We shall not cease from exploring

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know it for the first time.

--T.S. Eliot

Take a second read through of the above T.S. Eliot quote and then sit silently with it for several minutes.  Is there anything that is standing out to you or being stirred in you from this quote?

Think back several years to an important lesson Jesus taught you.  How has God deepened that learning over the last several years?  How is what you're learning about that lesson the same as before, but altogether new?

If there is a Bible verse or story that has played an important part in your life, take some time to return to that passage.  Read it, meditate on it, pray it back to God and listen for what God is speaking to you through it today.
